Secondhand Fancy on Facebook

Despite the fact that I’ve done less than 10 posts here and have yet to develop any kind of following,Β  I decided to go ahead and start a Facebook page for Secondhand Fancy.

It’s actually kind of fun and useful for me, as I’m keeping an album of “before” pics for my upcoming projects, and I’ll also post articles and comments and things that I want to remember. The FB page won’t just be a duplicate of what’s here.

If you’re so inclined, stop by on Facebook – and I surely wouldn’t complain if you decided to “Like” the page while you’re there πŸ™‚

  1. Neat to see your fb page and blog. I love finding roadside finds too. In fact, my husband, family, and friends find things for me that way too! πŸ™‚ I also write about what I do, on KYFORWARD.COM.

Will check out your Pinterest too, mine is listed under Norma’s Kentiques like my fb page. I also have a blog on my website page.

    • Norma – thanks for stopping by! I’ll check out your site & pinterest.

I’m jealous that your family & friends find things for you! My husband is always (jokingly) cursing me for bringing home more roadside furniture finds. It’s true, we have nowhere to keep it – and I also do most of my work in the yard since we don’t have a garage or basement – but I just can’t resist! I’m sure you know what I mean πŸ™‚

      • Lol! My home is almost looks like I need a hoarder intervention! I’ve stuffed the basement, some in the garage (husbands turf) and even our office. Our newly remodeled kitchen has become my “studio”. Oh and just in our living room is an extra 8 pieces plus a few more in the dining and kitchen. Oh my, it’s bad! (but in a good way)

The goal is to work my way thru the stuff and work in the basement. It could be awhile because now that spring is here, I will continue to visit flea mkts and yard sales. Hey, he asked ME to go see if there was anything today at a local place and then made a point to drive down a street cuz he saw something! (ended up being a dud).

My daughter and her business partner run a really neat store called “fabricate” in Northside. All the people who cosign their stuff there make it from recycled/upcycled things. They have a wonderful variety of things/talent. Look it up on fb. It’s on Hamilton Ave.

      • Thanks Norma – our house is fast headed that way too! I haven’t attempted to sell any pieces yet, but I’ll probably end up listing a few things on craigslist soon – like the awesome glider I found yesterday, that we have no room or need for. Temporary while you’re working on something is one thing, but a house only needs so many permanent pieces, ya know? πŸ™‚

I’ll check out your daughter’s store – that sounds really awesome!
